Best of New York- New Idea: Rooftop Restaurant Farms

Chefs have started cultivating New York’s version of soil: their roofs. Greenpoint’s Rooftop Farms sells to restaurants like Vesta and Anella. A kitchen garden grows above a shipping container in Roberta’s backyard. Roberta's in a lofty former garage in Willamsburg that makes what looks like pizza from their wood burning oven, Neapolitian style. Even Jean-Georges Vongerichten has hinted he’ll sow seeds on top of , the location of his new ABC Kitchen, opening this month which doesn't serve brunch on Sunday. Missed out on that one, sorry Riva!
But do read more about Roberta’s and check out their menu and if you go let me know what your stomach thinks.
