It's always funny to see a book translated to film, it's even more funny to see one of my past summer reads in the works being turned into a film. Bill Buford's book "Heat: An Amateur's Adventures as Kitchen Slave, Line Cook, Pasta-Maker, and Apprentice to a Dante-Quoting Butcher in Tuscany", or jut plain "Heat" has been optioned to become a movie.
Casting has not been determined or a release date been announced but they have big shoes to fill. Orange Crocs that is, Mario Batali's. Apparently a source says the "slavishly" Batali will be played by Philip Seymour Hoffman. Interesting!
